TXC: Why did you decide to start your own business?

LT: I love what I do and have an added income source.

TXC: What previous type of work experience did you have?

LT: Before I started my business I volunteered my services at my job. I’ve been an instructor for 15 years.

TXC: What motivates you to be successful?

LT: I offer a service that is in a relaxed environment and also caters to the individual as well as companies. Customer service is key. I am the only company to my knowledge that has a recall system. Most people are busy and have time restraints so, I send a reminder 1 to 2 months in advance so they will have plenty of time to adjust their schedule to renew their course.

TXC: How is The Tax Club involved in the growth of your business?

LT: They help me with my tax preparation and I can talk to them throughout the year for help.

TXC: What personal skills were necessary for you to start your own enterprise?

LT: Loving what you do and knowing that you are providing a service that everyone needs and that it can help someone save a life. My motto is “Remember! When you learn, someone else lives.”

TXC: What are the long term goals for your business?

LT: I want to get some corporation contracts where they contract me to come in every two years to train all their employees. Keeping them on a schedule and making sure they are always up to date on what’s new in feild of saving lives.
